"Virtual Power Plant" is the denomination of a power generation system that comprises a large number of installations where the combined capacity corresponds to that of a "large" power station.

Bundling a large number of smaller installations requires for each instant a large amount of information regarding the state, utilization and capacity of the network. The corresponding communication infrastructures have to be developed and implemented. And moving from a centrally controlled power system to one that complies with the demands of decentralized systems requires the integration of fundamentally new parameters.
In this area energynautics can provide support in developing and implementing Virtual Power Plants (VPP). Our experience resulting from projects such as the Cell pilot project constitute a valuable steady input for innovative and sustainable VPP solutions. Especially this demonstration project has resulted in insights that enable us to answer central issues regarding the implementation of VPP projects.
