In order to ensure a safe and reliable future operation, energynautics thoroughly tests energy generation concepts using the latest tools and scientific knowhow. Modelling is carried out, for instance, using Matlab/Simulink and DIgSILENT Powerfactory and comprises, among others, the following areas:
- Modelling Combined heat and power station:
- A detailed modelling of a voltage and speed governor.
- On a higher level, there is a controller for active and reactive power that provides the set point for the voltage and speed governor.
- There exists an option to switch between different operating states, e.g. load share of power station blocks or base-load operation.
- Modelling Wind turbines:
- We model two-mass spring damper systems – this is very important for the simulation of the wind turbine's effect on the power network.
- Drive concepts may consists of asynchronous or synchronous generators with or without converter.
- Depending on the version, we will model a capacitor bank with reactive power control.
- Validation:
- In order to validate the models, we compare them with measured data and – if necessary – adapt the parameters.
- We carry out system identifications where the CHP plant or the wind turbine is connected to an intermittent load and exposed to a number of load steps.
- It is also possible to use measurements from an ongoing operation in order to carry out the comparison and to fine-tune the models.
