Dr. Thomas Ackermann

energynautics founder and CEO Dr. Thomas Ackermann received the degree of a Dipl.-Wirtschaftsingenieur (combined degree in mechanical engineering and economics) from Technical University Berlin, Germany.

In addition, he holds a Master of Science in Physics from Otago University (New Zealand) and received a Ph.D. from Royal Technical University (Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan) in Stockholm (Sweden), his work was named best doctoral thesis in the field of "Energy" of the year 2004.


The main focus of his research is wind power and decentralized power generation in power networks. He is the editor of the book "Wind Power in Power Systems" and co-editor of the series "Wind Energy Journal".

Dr. Ackermann has worked for a large number of renowned consulting and research companies, among others, for Roland Berger & Partner, International Management Consultants (München, Germany); Price Waterhouse, Corporate Finance Consultants (Berlin, Germany); DesignPower Ltd., Engineering Consultants (Wellington, New Zealand); and Industrial Research Limited (IRL), Science and Technology Research Company, Member of the Crown Research Institutes, (Christchurch, New Zealand).


Dr. Thomas Ackermann teaches at "Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan" in Stockholm, has published numerous articles and book contributions in the field of renewable energies. He is an acclaimed speaker at symposia, workshops and conferences, both nationally and internationally. Due to his project activities he has accumulated a large international experience.
